Joint College-Minor Programs (JCMP)

The Joint College-Minor Programs (JCMP) represent a collaborative initiative between the Institute for Advancing Education in Business and Management (IAEBM) and select business schools across North America. The goal of this program is to expand access to high-quality, internationally recognized education in economics, management, finance, and related fields.

Through partnerships with business schools and relevant academic departments at participating universities, JCMP enables students to pursue Minor degrees that reflect modern business and management standards. These programs are designed to leverage each university’s existing academic resources and faculty expertise, providing students with an efficient and enriched learning experience.

Due to the customized nature of the JCMP, interested students are encouraged to first contact the administrative office or the business-related academic units at their home institution. They can provide detailed information on whether your university is a participating partner and, if so, how to apply or enroll in the program.

Minor programs in Business and Management are typically designed for students majoring in non-business fields. While individual universities may emphasize different aspects, these programs generally provide essential knowledge and practical skills in business analysis, project management, and organizational leadership. They prepare you to take on leadership roles, manage cross-functional teams, or even launch your own ventures—regardless of your primary area of study.

Whether you aim to advance within your current profession or pivot toward a career in business or management, earning this certificate can significantly expand your academic and professional opportunities.

While we respect the academic autonomy of each partner university and department, all Joint College-Minor Programs (JCMP) certified by IAEBM are expected to include a set of core foundational courses in business and management. These typically include:

  • Fundamentals of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics
  • Financial Management
  • Financial Institutions and Markets
  • Principles of Management
  • International Trade

To earn the JCMP Certificate, students must complete the required courses as defined by their home university’s program. Once we receive official confirmation from your university or academic department verifying that all program requirements have been successfully fulfilled, IAEBM will issue your certificate accordingly.

The time required to complete the JCMP certificate program depends on your academic background and whether you have already completed relevant prerequisite courses. Please consult your university for a detailed course plan. In general, most students complete the required coursework for the Minor degree within three academic years, with approximately 75% of students finishing within two years.

In addition to the standard academic support provided by your university, students enrolled in the JCMP program receive dedicated assistance from IAEBM. Each student is assigned a Teaching Assistant (TA) who offers academic guidance, study support, and timely feedback throughout the program. You also have access to technical support from IAEBM’s IT team for any software, platform, or database tools used in your coursework.

According to our strategic agreements and Memoranda of Understanding with participating universities, all fees associated with the JCMP program are paid directly by the university to IAEBM. Students are not required to make any additional payments to IAEBM.

Please note, however, that each university independently determines how it manages and finances these costs. For questions regarding tuition or financial arrangements, we recommend contacting your university’s enrollment or financial services office.

While IAEBM actively seeks donations and external funding to support our mission, students enrolled in JCMP do not receive individual financial awards from IAEBM. Instead, any funding we secure is used to reduce the overall costs incurred by our partner universities, helping to ensure that the program remains accessible to more students.

To find out whether your university participates in the JCMP program and how to enroll, please contact the administrative office or the academic unit responsible for business education at your institution. If you are still unsure or need further assistance, feel free to reach out to IAEBM.
